Ultra Panel multifunction instrument.
This page is posted as a status report on the development of the panel for Ultralight and experimental aircraft.

Here are several still images of the first prototype display and a short MOVIE.

The MOVIE is just sweeping the display, If it looked like this while your were flying you would most likely be doing loops!

Here is a sample of the display as an early prototype.
       March 15, 2008
The numeric display has up to 7 "MODE" selected groups of 4 values.  This is MODE 0 the base mode for most flying.  Other modes display EGT CHT, density altutude, HOBBS and true airspeed etc.

The bar graph at the left is the CLIMB

red is decending green climbing  25fpm to 2500fpm
as seen here climbing at 500fpm

Top bar graph is Tach 2000 to 7000 showing 4,900rpm

Right side is the airspeed bar graph. at 57mph
Altitude 4,290 feet

The red and green leds left of the bottom 7 slegment display is for climb readout of + or -

Sorry the focus is a bit off at this close distance.

Here is some other data Tach shows 4,600 rpm

Climbing 200fpm

airspeed 51mph

alt 26feet

Here the tach is pegged and airspeed is over red line

The bar graphs have fixed upper limits, the numeric display just keeps going no matter how high.

The climb is 2400fpm at limit of bar graph

altitude 48feet

Here tach 4400rpm climb level airspeed 48mph

You can set the lower limit and step size of the tach and airspeed to scale the display and center points.
So if you want 5500rpm at top center you can set it up that way.

I have more light on the board so you can see it better

When the computer is in it's case the display is 3.4 inch square and is designed to fit into a standard 3 1/8 aircraft panel opening.  A second small box will be mounted with the engine to collect engine data and send it to the display computer.

In flight a single button allows you acces to all the display modes and data.
